Local Youth Leaders Learn Important
Peer-Education Techniques

LV TOTThe Lady Volta Resource Center in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) recently conducted a training for local youth leaders in peer-education techniques.  In an intensive, four-day program that started on the 6th of October, thirteen youth leaders currently working with teenagers and young adults from the Volta Region were trained in how to inspire young people to become leaders in their communities.

LVRC Kicks Off The Life
Skills Programme


The LVRC launched its 13-week Life Skills Programme to educate the young women employed under Lady Volta Beads and Batik. By integrating life skills education and economic opportunity, VEG remains committed to a holistic approach to poverty alleviation. The young women receive training in topics such as Reproductive and Sexual health, literacy, numeracy and personal finance.

LVRC Staff and The Real Hunters record first-ever VEI/Ghana song

In an effort to increase awareness about the resource center, LVRC staff members along with the help of a local duo - The Real Hunters - wrote, recorded and aired the first-ever VEI/Ghana song.

While determining the content of a radio advertisement staff members agreed that a musical ad would be a more creative and memorable way to reach their audience... and thus a theme song was born.
